About these terms
These terms of use are an agreement between you and Saksi. They apply from 22 October 2026.
- "Saksi", "we" and "us" mean the individual developer who publishes the Saksi app on Google Play under the developer name "Saksi". You can contact us at hello@getsaksi.com.
- "The app" means the Saksi Android app (package
com.saksi.app), including its updates. - "The websites" means getsaksi.com and docs.getsaksi.com.
- "Saksi services" means the app and the websites together.
By installing or using the app, or by using the websites, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them. How we handle personal information is described in the privacy policy.
Saksi is intended for adults. If you are under 18, use Saksi only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Do not use Saksi if you are under 13.
What Saksi is
Saksi keeps a private history of the notifications your Android phone shows you, on your phone. It saves notification information that Android makes available after you give permission.
Saksi is not a messaging app and not a surveillance tool. It does not read your chats inside other apps, and it cannot promise to keep a copy of every message, edit, deletion or file.
Your permission to use Saksi
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to install and use the app on Android phones that you own or are allowed to use, for your own notifications, in line with these terms. You can use the websites to learn about and get help with Saksi.
You may not copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app, remove our notices, or try to get around its technical limits, except where the law allows you to do so regardless of these terms. The terms of Google Play also apply to how you download the app.
Use Saksi on your own phone
Saksi is for keeping a history of your own notifications on your own phone. You must not use it to harm or spy on other people.
- Do not install or use Saksi on another person's phone to see their notifications or messages, and do not use it to get access to accounts, devices or information you are not allowed to access.
- Do not use Saksi for surveillance of anyone, or to harass, threaten, blackmail or expose anyone.
- Do not publish or redistribute other people's messages or files in a way that breaks the law or their rights.
- Respect the privacy of the people you talk to. Their names and messages can appear in your notifications.
- Follow the laws that apply where you live, including privacy, recording and communications laws.
If you use Saksi in breach of these terms or the law, you are responsible for that use.
Your content and our property
Your notifications, messages and files remain yours, or belong to the people who sent them. We claim no rights in them, and we never receive your archive.
The app, the websites, their design, text and images, and the Saksi name and logo belong to us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These terms do not give you any rights in them except the permission to use Saksi described above.
What Saksi can and cannot capture
Saksi depends on Android, on your phone's manufacturer, and on the apps that send notifications. It can only save what a notification shows when Android delivers it to Saksi.
- Results can differ between Android versions, phone manufacturers and app versions. An update to Android or to another app can change what Saksi can save at any time.
- Saksi needs Notification Access. If you turn it off, or if an app does not show a notification, hides its content, or your phone limits Saksi in the background, Saksi may save nothing.
- An edit is labelled only when the notification itself shows the change.
- A possible deletion means a message disappeared from a notification. It is not proof that the sender deleted it. A notification can disappear for other reasons.
- Photos and files are saved only when Android gives Saksi a readable file. Often only a file name or type is kept.
Saksi does not guarantee that any notification, message or file will be captured or can be recovered, or that it will work without interruption on every phone.
Your data, sharing and receipts
You control your archive. It is stored only on your phone, and you decide what to keep, delete or share.
- You are responsible for anything you share from Saksi, including receipts, messages and files, and for whom you share it with. Use the options to hide names, text or words when that helps protect someone's privacy.
- A receipt shows what your phone's notification showed. It is not independently verified evidence, it is not verification by WhatsApp, Telegram or any other app, and it is not proof of what a person wrote.
- If you need to keep something for longer or rely on it later, keep your own copy outside Saksi.
Retention and deletion
The free archive keeps 7 days of history. Older items are deleted automatically on your phone, normally about once a day, and cannot be restored. Delete all data erases everything Saksi saved on your phone. Uninstalling the app, a lost or broken phone, or turning off Notification Access can also mean that history is lost or not saved. Saksi does not keep a backup of your archive.
Price, paid features and refunds
Saksi is free to use, with no account. Paid features, such as a longer history, and ads are planned and are not available yet.
If paid features are offered later, they will be sold through Google Play billing. The price, billing period, renewal and cancellation terms will be shown in Google Play before you buy, and the purchase will also be subject to Google Play's terms. You will manage and cancel subscriptions in Google Play. Refunds follow Google Play's refund policies, and nothing in these terms limits any refund or other rights you have under applicable consumer law. Reading your saved history, privacy controls and Delete all data will not require a purchase.
Availability and changes to Saksi
We work to keep Saksi useful and reliable, but we may change, add or remove features, labels and limits, and we may suspend or stop the app or the websites. Where a change materially affects paid features you bought, we will tell you in advance where reasonably possible and respect your rights under applicable law.
You can stop using Saksi at any time by uninstalling the app. We may end your permission to use Saksi if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
The websites and docs
The information on the websites is provided to help you understand and use Saksi. It is general and educational. We try to keep it accurate, but it may be incomplete or become out of date, and it may change at any time. Guides and docs describe typical Android behavior. Your phone and apps may behave differently.
If the websites link to another website, we are not responsible for that website's content or practices.
Trademarks
WhatsApp, Telegram, Android and Google Play are trademarks of their respective owners. Saksi is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by WhatsApp, Telegram or Google. These names are used only to describe which notifications Saksi can work with.
No warranty
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Saksi services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that they will be error free, uninterrupted, always available, or fit for a particular purpose.
Some laws do not allow these exclusions. Where that is the case, they apply only as far as the law allows, and you keep the warranties and guarantees that the law gives you.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Saksi is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, messages or files, that results from using or being unable to use Saksi services.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded or limited by agreement.
Governing law and disputes
These terms do not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. Where those laws apply, they govern these terms and any dispute, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live if those laws allow it.
If you have a problem, please write to us first at hello@getsaksi.com, so we can try to solve it informally.
If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest of the terms stays in effect.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes too. If a change is material, for example when paid features or ads are introduced, we will announce it in the app or on the websites before it applies. If you keep using Saksi services after a change applies, the updated terms apply. If you do not agree, you can stop using Saksi and uninstall the app.
Language versions
These terms are written in English. Translations are provided for convenience. If a translation differs from the English text, the English text is the reference, except where the law where you live requires otherwise.
